A Quick Review of U.S. Election 2020, Nov 04, 2020

U.S. Election 2020

A global financial markets are closely watching the outcome of the ongoing U.S. Elections 2020. The results till now show Joe Biden in the lead but in key battleground states, the spread is less than 1.5 points which means it could swing either way. There are too many battleground states this time around but the most important will be Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. If Trump wins all of those states, he will be the President for the next four years. If he loses them all, he won’t be able to contest his seat and Biden will be declared the winner.

Let’s do a quick review of the winners in the following states which plays a critical role in delivering the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House:

MINNESOTA – Biden
NEW HAMPSHIRE – Biden
OHIO – Trump
FLORIDA – Trump
IOWA – Trump
TEXAS – Trump

NEVADA – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

NORTH CAROLINA – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

MICHIGAN – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

WISCONSIN – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

PENNSYLVANIA – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

GEORGIA – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

AROZONA – No organization has yet to determine a winner in the Presidential Election

Trump v/s Biden, what should be the path of Victory?

Trump must win Pennsylvania and other three battleground states to secure 270 electoral votes. If he doesn’t win Pennsylvania, he will have to sweep the remaining five.

In case of Biden, Nevada and Wisconsin states will be important. If Biden wins these states, victories in Georgia, Michigan or Pennsylvania would give him enough to win.

Polls have closed and voting has stopped too across the U.S but according to the election laws, states require all votes to be counted and many states usually take days to finish counting ballots. More votes stood to be counted this year than in the past as people voted early by an E – mail and in person because of the Corona virus pandemic situation.

Take a look and do trade wisely!
Good Luck
